Governor Cooper Appointed Judge Sam Hamadani to the Wake County District Court in June 2017.  She was sworn in on June 9, 2017 and began holding court on June 12, 2017. 

Judge Hamadani is featured in several  articles highlighting how she made history as the first Iranian-American Judge in North Carolina. 


Judge Hamadani presided over the swearing-in ceremony of Apex Town Council Member, Audra Killingsworth.

Judge Hamadani presented an award to the inspirational and talented Miss Sheena Dean at the Citizens First Youth Service Awards Celebration.

Judge Hamadani was joined by several influential community leaders to discuss the role women play in public service. 

Judge Hamadani spoke at the NC Central University School of Law's "Women Judges In The Law Panel" moderated by Court of Appeals Judge Lucy Inman.  Judge Hamadani was joined on the panel by Supreme Court Justice Robin Hudson and fellow District Court Judges Christine Walczyk, Amanda Maris, Shamieka Rhinehart, Doretta Walker, Denise Hartsfield, and Lindsey McKee. 

Judge Hamadani was a panelist at the Annual Iranian American Women's Leadership Conference In Los Angeles, CA.

Judge Hamadani was the keynote speaker at the ATHENA Women's Leadership Luncheon.
